HISTORY OF THE END OF THE WORLD

EATING BANANAS IN WINTER

The “Boss”, the manager of “the Shop”, looks and walks by like a Golden Moonwalker, carrying enormous shopping-bags, filled with Easter-stuff. It is all meant to be served on april 1 during an Easter Breakfast for the regular guests.

One of tbe benefits of female managers is, that they always want to care and nourish these regulars by food and festivities. Also meant for teambuilding (and indoctrination) and pleasing.

We are addicted to food and especially all kinds of fast-food products. If you turn fastfood and take-away into a way of life, you are, unknowingly, part of a global global food-system. With excesses as eating-contests in Japan, USA and Korea. Food is transported world-wide and this globalisation needs a giant infrastructure and ever-growing harbours. Big ships too.

A coolingship transporting bananas, millions of them, lands its cargo in Rotterdam, giant cranes unload the containers, who are made ready for further transport through Europe; by rail, truck, boat, and even by airplane And we are all eating the same bananas from Denmark to France and Germany.

This is a showcase of corporate power and management.

Problem is, that these food-moguls only can think big and linear. One by one is two and the earthly processes are strictly regulated. F.i. there is only one type of banana for sale. Other types, and there are many, are neglected or ignored. A colossal banana-monolith. Science proclaims more diversity, but the global banana-show goes. It is to big to change and the mono-culture of banana's is vulnerable for diseases. If this happens, the Tower of Babel collapse.

No more bananas in winter.
