SOMEthing to THINK about

The “Manhattan-project” was one of the biggest scientific and industrial enteprises ever undertaken. The project actually contained two seperate undertakings. In one segment a nuclear weapon based on uranium was developed, in the other a weapon based on plutonium.

Both projects produced a bomb, almost on the same moment. After a succesful test, both bombs were dropped within weeks. “Fat Boy”, an uranium-bomb was dropped on Hirosjima, his plutonium counterpart was dropped on Nagasaki.
