ALERT: North Korea launches ballistic missile, flies over Japan: JCS
North Korea launched a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan (known in Korea as the East Sea) on Tuesday morning, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
JCS said the launch took place in the vicinity of Pyongyang Sunan International Airport at 0557 KST and that the missile passed over Japan.
The South Korean and the U.S. authorities are reportedly jointly analyzing further details about the launch, and a meeting of Seoul’s National Security Council (NSC) will be held at 0700 KST.
