SOMETHING
TO THINK ABOUT
In
preparation of D-Day the British public was asked to send in
postcards and/or pictures taken at the French coast. Allied
Intelligence turned them into a detailed map of the Normandy coast.
This prooved to be essential during the invasion.
In
total 10 million pictures and postcards arrived and were used for
mapping and intelligence gathering.
