THE FAMILY

In the beginning there were two brothers, who were dropped on this world to play for God. Sometimes there were more brothers and sisters, but these couples are famous: Enki and Enlil, Seth and Osiris and Ahriman and Aruman. In the Bible the fatal confrontation is described in the story of Kain and Abel. The world would never be the same and evil entered paradise. From that moment on the world became a murderous place, where armies marched in the mountains and on the planes.

It has not changed since then. Assur, Babylon and Egypt were local superpowers, who raided their neighbours on a regular basis, Alexander the Great, Rome and Islamic hordes conquered and reigned the Middle East.

The Christians conquered the Holy Land during the Crusades, but were driven off its shores.

Jerusalem was part of the Ottoman Empire, till the end of World War 1, after which Palestine became a Brittish protectorate. It were quiet times and the area was almost completely Arab, except for Jerusalem, where a larger group of Jews lived. More Jews came after the start of the repression of Jews in Nazi-Germany. But not in overwhelming numbers.

In 1948 Israel became an independent country, leaving the Palestinians in confusion. War broke out and has gone on since then. Now the warzone exists of Gaza, Golan, Syria, Turkey and northern Iraq. Libanon and Jordan are slowly dragged into the conflict, while Iran has boots on the ground in Syria and Kurds fight for an idependent state.

This the curse of Kain, who spilled the blood of his brother and killed him. An act repeated by the crucifixion of Jesus.

He was dragged through town, spilling his blood all over Jerusalem.
