At the end of the 19^th century a Russian medium called Madame Blavatsky made furore in the USA. She did so performing in seances and occult sessions, but also by writing impressive books and succeeded in creating a global “Theosophical Society”, a spiritual group, that still exists. In her books, she describes the development of the human race in terms of “root-races”, that came before us and of which we only have little nenory. The first root-race she called, the astrals, human entities functioning on other, higher levels. What happened to them is unknown. The second root-race Blavatsky namen the “Hyperboreans”, super-human living in the North, whose empire was destroyed.

The “Lemurians”, the 3^rd race appearing. Their world is destroyed. Madame Blavatsky, who smoked cigars, is quite explicit about the reasong of the down-fall. The Lemurians performed genetic experiments, which led to the interbreding, with animals.

Atlantis and its inhabits, the 4^th root-race, were the builders of enormous monuments, all over the world. Noah and his fore-fathers lived under Atlantean rule; blue-eyed and blond warrior-gods.

This global civilization was destroyed by a great Flood, an instrument of the Wrath of the Gods. The waters covered the whole of the Earth for weeks. When the waters had receded, the animals and the Noah-family repopulated the land.

In this process the 5^th root-race will manifest itself as the Race of Hope. This race she called the Aryans, descendants of Atlantis. They were the supermen or “Ubermenschen” of this cycle of history and the turning of the cosmic wheel. Mystics and occultists in Austria and Germany adopted the vision, that the Germans was the latent heir of Atlantis. Their powers had diminished because of interbreeding with inferior races and loss of Germanic values and culture. Nazism was a cult and a national movement with a great motivating powers, that used industrialised genocide as a tool to gain victory. Central in the realisation of the “Vokswille” stood the Schutz Staffel, the SS, which started out as the “Pretorian” bodygaurds of “der Fuhrer”, but grew out to a military force of almost one million dedicated warriors. These christian knights can, in retrospect be compared to the SS-tankbrigades, who fought as a collective and so, on horseback and heavyly armored, crushed the enemy. Exactly like the SS did at the beginning of the Russian campaign. Operation Barbarossa, 1941. The name chosen refers to a German Emperor Redbeard, Barbarossa, who fought the East-European tribes and has a “cultish” background. Folklore and nationalistic tales said, that Barbarossa and his army, were resting in the heart of the mountains. The forces, led by the Emperor, would join the next German conqueror in their struggle, to make sure they would be victorious.
