WASHINGTON: Aspirants for the Democratic Party ticket to run for White House in 2016 take the podium on Tuesday night, with questions hanging over whether vice-president Joe Biden will throw his hat on the stage to become the sixth candidate shooting for the nomination.
CNN, which is hosting the first Democratic debate, has indicated that it is bending its own rules and keeping a sixth lectern in reserve should the vice-president jump into the fray. Biden is still conferring with his family and friends on whether to take the plunge. He has at least another month to make up his mind.
